Audition = Life

"OXOjamm's auditions aint based on so-called "Talent" at all....No...it's based on character, which to me is way harder to come by. We can pump up the talent on anyone who has character...but if they just a poser, shit...to me their ass is worthless."

Masters Johnson, Safari magazine interview 2004.

It aint shit...It aint shit....It aint shit....It aint shit....

Masters and I have a diff spin on this and I will try to be just as long winded.

Back in the day when you were in my field hospital yelling for Morphine I told you that If I gave it to you that you would need it, or something like it, for the rest of your life. You cursed me...but later You thanked me once for that.I have always been direct with you and so I will be so now.

You were wrong about that Dude. You thought he was your friend and you were wrong about how he really felt about OXOjamm and the American Jamm Method. I believe he was using you and trying to worm his way into OXOjamm for his own benefit.He betrayed you back when you were in his band and he betrayed you again. I believe that as soon as you accept that the better.

In all this time he never really did a damn thing for you or for us. Lots of promises and lots of dreamy talk. No substance to the swirl of ideas or ideology. You always did the real work, not him.

I believe that aside from the "musical talent", which he does have, the rest of his "talent" is a talent for talk and an excuse for his addiction to weed and alc. I believe he is one of those poor individuals who justify their addiction and lifestyle by occasionally proveing to others that they are a "Musician". I had him pegged as a poser from the second I laid eyes on him and he proved it with his inexcusable behavior.

You trusted him Vince, and I salute you for that. Sometimes we have to trust people and to give them the benefit of the doubt. I do not believe that you were to blame at all. You did everything in your power to warn him, to correct him, and to try to keep him from failing the audition. I think everyone especially Brandon played their parts perfectly.

Now move on and lets get back to our already established gigs, then to "Burning Man" and the future that our mobile recording studio will present!

I promise that I will try to be there as a friend more often. I am very sorry about your Mom.
